December Makeup Favourites

Hi everyone, 

So December is over and I am not going to repeat how quick it passed and how we cannot believe its 2017 already, as I am sure that I am not the only one who is aware of this!

I have loved so many products and have tried out so many new ones too.

But the products I shall be mentioning are all products I have used throughout the month of December, ones that I love.

These are all makeup products.

My December 2016 Favourites are – 

The Beauty Treats Roses Eyeshadow Palette

I received this palette in a Sweet Sparkle Box. I didn’t think I would still use this palette however I have and did!

The shades are all so pretty and from the photo you could see which are my favourite! I love that dusty pink/red it is gorgeous especially loved using it during the Christmas Season! The shadows all blend well and even though there is fall out it is something I can deal with!

ELF Blush – Tickled Pink

This is a fave oldie I have had for years! I love this blush, it is so subtle and natural. I love adding it to an all natural makeup look, you know to just add colour to the face. I miss ordering from elf, it was such a good and reasonable brand. I really must check again to see if the shipping rates have lowered, but last time I checked they were sky high!

Max Factor Smooth Miracle Primer

I love this Primer, I don’t really understand primers sometimes, but I can see that this does something! It really helps minimise my pores, reduces shine and creates a lovely base for my foundation and the rest of my makeup look!

Max Factor Miracle Match Blur & Nourish Foundation

This goes hands in hands with the primer. I have tried the primer with other foundations, however I never tried this foundation with other primers. The primer as I said really sets a nice base, and the foundation settles so well with it. I love the coverage that it has, it also lasts long and yes there is some shine after a few hours, but nothing a little powder can even it out!

Rimmel London Clear Complexion Transparent Powder

This is a monthly favourite. I used to love the Rimmel London stay matte powder however I now switched to this one. I feel this is less heavier and more gentle on the skin. I love setting my under eyes and eyelids as well with this powder. And who wouldn’t love it for its inexpensive price!

Essence Get Big Lashes Volume Curl Mascara

This is an oldie too and I absolutely love it. The wand is just good enough to hit all them lashes! It doesn’t transfer on the lid and creates such nice volumed lashes!

City Color Highlight Trio Palette

This highlight palette I have found myself to levitate to a lot recently. I also got this from my Sweet Sparkle box! So yes thanks to the Sweet Sparkle box I have found new items that I adore!

As you can see from the photo I LOVE those 2 lightest shades, I like mixing them in together to create that natural highlight glow!

Milani Matte Lipstick in Naked

I have been loving this lipstick for work, for running errands, going to appointments; basically for an everyday makeup look that is natural and quick! This just gives the right amount of pink shade to my lip. The formula is all matte and lasts for a while too. Yes of course you will need to reapply it after eating as it does brush off.

Essence XXXL Longlasting Velvet Matte Lipgloss in Silky Red

This is such a cute lipstick. I actually got this at the Essence event I attended with my friend Christabel and she actually got two of these. She was so nice as to give me one and I thank her for that! The formula of this lipstick is so nice and creamy. Yes you need to reapply it constantly throughout the day as it is not long lasting however it gives the loveliest of shades. That pinky red! Also it smells like a vanilla cupcake!

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Point Zero

This was one of the lipsticks Kathleen Lights made! I love this it is such a lovely dusty brown perfect for autumn/winter. I guess if you are used to pinks everyday, this would be different. The formula of the satin lips is amazing and lasts long too!

Sweet Sparkle Unboxing – November – Precious Metals (Better late than never!)

Hi everyone,

Yes I KNOW! This unboxing is a tad late! I know it is late because November was 2 months ago and I already received my December box which I still have yet to try out.

Unlike Lip Monthly I like doing full videos related to Sweet Sparkle because if you don’t know, the box sends out a couple of products whereby you can create an entire look! So I like just opening the box and filming myself to see what look I create with said products. However, I do not think that is going to be the case for the December box.

A Month Subscription costs $24.50 so it is a little bit pricey however, we get products from drugstore brands (such as Jordana, Wet n’Wild, LA Girl etc… ) which for us Maltese we don’t see much of.

The November month’s theme was Precious metals and so we got a pure metals fluid eyeshadow and metallic lipstick which I was excited about because I don’t own anything metallic in my collection!

BUT I was disappointed with this box because unlike the previous boxes we did not receive a MASCARA and I don’t think it was worth the money. I didn’t even receive the Precious Metals theme card we get every month. So it was a THUMBS DOWN for me.

Beauty Treats – Roses Eyeshadow Palette

This is an eyeshadow palette which I have used this eyeshadow palettes on other occasions besides for this video. That means that I liked it especially the rose pink shade I used in the video.

The eyeshadows are quite powder-y however I was not bothered by it.
Absolute New York Products – Pure Metal Veil Fluid Eyeshadow – in Champagne

I loved this product and loved experimenting with it. It emphasised my lines on my eyelids but concealing them and setting the concealer it should help.
LA Girl -Glide Gel Eyeliner

For the makeup look I created I wish I never used this product. But applying this product on its own with maybe one coloured eyeshadow on my eyelid would be great!
Jordana – Coral Sandy Beach Blush Powder

The blush is not my favourite colour however, it applied well on my cheeks.
City Color – Highlight Trio Palette

This highlight I LOVE! I love using the 2 lightest shades in the palette. Cannot see that yellow one as a bronzer as it has chunks of glitter inside.

I don’t like bronzers like that. But I love love love the last two light shades; they give a lovely highlighted look.
Klean Color Metallic Lip Gloss

I have never ever tried a Metallic lipstick before until tryout this one. It is a little sticky and it is not my favourite colour however the brand’s formula is amazing as it dries completely matte and lasts quite a long time!

December 2016 Lip Monthly Bag

Hi everyone,

I am finally going to share with you all what I received in my Lip Monthly bag. It did ship quite late and so I received the bag at the very end of the month.

However, I was not disappointed by the products that I received.

In this month’s bag we all received 4 items which were all lip related! This month however we did not receive how much the products were worth and what was the total retail cost of the bag as we have received in the previous months!

A big plus was that we received the gold sealed envelope which is sort of like the envelope one would receive their Ipsy bag!

LipMonthly is a monthly lip subscription service. Every month we get a different bag which hold all the products! 

Cost: $12.95/month

Ships: To the US, Canada, UK, Spain, Australia. However, shipping rates do apply to the UK, Canada, Spain and Australia.

No they do not ship to Malta – they used to however they stopped. I was lucky as since I was subscribed with them before they made this change I still get to receive the bag at a $4.99 shipping fee. So the bag now costs me $16. I thought I would unsubscribe this month but since the bag came with goodies which I am happy with I shall give it another chance!

The items we received were – 

Chapstick Total Hydration Natural Lip Scrub ($4.99)

I was so happy to receive a lip scrub as my lips are so dry due to these cold winter days! This is a FULL SIZE product! I have never tried any products from this brand. It has a minty scent to it and it is soft on the lips.

Crazy Rumors Hibiskiss Lip Color in Breeze ($4.99)

Another products that will hopefully benefit my dry lips. It is a FULL SIZE product and when I applied it reminded me of the chapsticks I used to use when I was younger. The scent is a sort of fruity one which sent me back to the past! It feels very refreshing on my lips and not harsh at all.

City Color Lip Gloss With Argan Oil in Girl Next Door ($5.99)

This again is a FULL SIZE product! It comes in a very glossy and shimmery formula; it also has argan oil which I guess should be good no? It is not too sticky on the lips which is a big deal for me as I am not much of a fan of lip gloss. However, thanks to Lip Monthly I am using lip glosses again. The shade is not something I would go for however, this may have been my fault for choosing it.

Now Lip Monthly offers you the chance to customise some products which you will receive in your next bag. Maybe it was because the shades differ on the screen but I thought this shade would be more of a pink nude shade. However, I will learn to love it as I was not disappointed when I saw it on me!

Cougar Mineral Lipstick in Sangria ($10)

This is the most expensive product we got in this bag and again its FULL SIZE! It has a lovely red/pink shade to it. However, on the lips it is more a red with an orange undertone to it which really looks like the shade that sangria has! It is shimmery and creamy and applied smoothly onto the lips.

Best Friend does my Voiceover Challenge!!

Everyone, it’s 2017!!! 

I hope you all had a lovely New Year’s! Mine went by in a blur! Literally it flew by, I didn’t realise how quick a day can pass when you are so tired from all the dancing that you did the night before!!

Anyway’s back on Saturday – the last day of 2016 – I uploaded a video and never got a chance to share it here on my blog. As I share every video I upload here on my blog I thought that this video couldn’t be the first one that I forget to share here!

Especially since it is a video that I will constantly watch even in years to come! I never did this before but in this video I was accompanied with Amy who is my best friend and I love her to bits! She even agreed to do this video with me and I am so grateful for her doing so, because not only did it come so good but I really enjoyed doing it with her as well!

So lately I have noticed this boyfriend/best friend does my makeup voiceover challenge and I thought that this would be a fun video to do and share with you guys! I really hope you enjoy watching it!

Sweet Sparkle Beauty Box – Review

Everyone is back to work/school, so hope you’re all doing okay and have settled back into your routines.

Me? I am still grasping the concept of getting out of the house by 7am.

Today’s video is about a new subscription box that sends every month. It’s called Sweet Sparkle and it is based in America.

What intrigued me is that it sends out full sized products which is super!!

Also, the brands vary and I like the fact that I can try out new American brands that are difficult to get over here in Malta.

In this palette I mostly liked the highlight as it really is super pigmented and gives such a lovely glow.

Yes it did arrive broken but I managed to fix it !! Just a little hack I learnt through watching youtube videos!!

The lip liner applied smoothly on my lips and went on great. I loved applying this before applying the liquid lipstick that was also in the box.

I absolutely LOVE this shade! Like I said in the video it reminds me of the JOLLY christmas season! It is such a nice vibrant red shade perfect for the holiday season!! It is a little sticky but it does not transfer (just a little – literally a LITTLE).

I do not like the white side of the pencil however, I really like the black side. The pencils themselves are a little harsh and not soft. But the black went on really well on my waterline.

I am so excited for the next box because in the end I love how the look came out!!
